Box 12-565 TO REV. CALVIN MCQUESTEN from Badger
Apr 2 1912
To: Rev. Calvin McQuesten Bracebridge, Ontario
From: Namao, Alberta

Dear Old Cal,

Congratulations on call to work in Bracebridge. Namao Manse wishes for you a long happy and successful pastorate there. Now shall we watch for the "[protice?]" page in the Presby.

Well our first winter in Alta. is over and a rare beauty it has been, sleighing for about two months snow never more than 15 in. deep. Practically no storms and only two coldspells when ther. went down to 50 deg. below the '0' spot.

We are in the vortex of the wildest real estate Boom I have seen. Farms a few miles out are selling for two hundred dollars an acre. If there is a literal hell those vendors of God's earth will find a place in the hottest sections, am disposed to believe that Dante would have made a place especially for them in his recepticalo for the fellows who are not straight.

Fancy we can hardly expect to see your old face among the fathers at assembly here in the northern metropolis in June. [?] [?] [?] preparations are being made for the affair. The larger church on 5th street is already in use though not finished. Am afraid those people in growing wealthy have grown worldly. They have an expensive pile of stuff, it has cost probably more than $50,000 over the original figure or estimate.

Things are jogging along with us about as usual. The folks come back from Sunday to Sunday for which I am profoundly surprised but the more grateful. At Communion 2 weeks ago 11 united on confession of faith, several others are prepared to come in next Communion.

Drop a line when you can already you owe me at least one letter. Molly joins in sending best wishes and greeting at Eastertide.

Ever

Badger
