My dear Mary and Calvin,

It is very difficult to write letters. You see, we arrived here Wednesday noon, had lunch and went to bed, glad to find a quiet spot, had got pretty tired with such broken rest as we got on the Steamer, so I had to rest all day Thursday too till dinner in Evening. Tom and H.[Hilda] went to Wembley. Then Friday went out a little before lunch round the streets. At two started for motor-drive, went for 35 miles away out to Richmond thro' the Park, seeing the deer and on thro' the Chestnut Ave. to Hampton Court. I cannot describe the beauty of it all. Then to Kew Gardens where at the gate I was put into a chair and poor Tom & H. trudged along. Cannot describe it here. We did not get back till nearly seven o'clock.

To-day H. and I were invited to a luncheon at the Savoy given by the Ladies Reception Com. for the Can. Ladies before we might be swamped by the Americans next week. It was really delightful. Afterwards Tom met us & took us thro' Westminster thoroughly, so you will understand I am quite well, but not equal to long letter writing. Want to go to bed early, for to-morrow we go to St. Paul's for service, special seats are reserved. As some Detroit minister is at City Temple will not go there but may try for St. Columba where Dr. Arch. Fleming preaches or Westminster Chapel.

We got to Queen's Hotel South sea on Saturday, so write there tho' I really cannot tell how your letter is to reach us when we are always moving. Hope E.[Edna] was not upset at our going. With much love.
