On Wednesday I went to see my afflicted friends. Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Thomson who had been laid aside with grip. Mentally I had been admiring my own superiority when [?] [?] I came down with it myself beginning Thursday with a fearful chill [two lines illegible] a fearful cough, but [line illegible] as I have to send money to Cal. for his exam fees am sending him $5.00 for you which with enclosed will [line illegible] till first of month. Will then send you $15.00 & perhaps that will do you till Easter when Ruby's money comes in. With much love.
