Moved by Mr. Maitland Young seconded by Mr. Donald McLellan. Resolved

"That this congregation with this, the first opportunity they have had, in public meeting assemble[r?] of returning their most grateful thanks to Mefs. Calvin McQuesten, [?] Osborne, and [Dr. ??] Trustees of the late [American?] Presbyt'n Church in the city for the munificent donation of ['pound' symbol] [1562.10??] [?] made by them to the building fund of this congregation; and also of [recording?] the sum of gratitude we feel towards these gentlemen [??] for the Christian considerations which prompted the gifts, but also for the trouble experienced, and the self-denial exercised by them in divesting the sum to us.

Extracted from the minutes of the McNab [sic] Street Presbyt'n church annual meeting, held on the evening of the 3rd day of May, 1838.2
