[First page on microfilm is the back of an envelope overwritten and mostly illegible, but context similar to subject of letter following] W-MCP2-3b.044 TO REV. CALVIN MCQUESTEN, B.A. from his mother, Mary Baker McQuesten Sep 29 1920 Wednesday Postmarked To: Calvin McQuesten Knox College Toronto, Ontario From: 'Whitehern' My dear Calvin,
Can you give us any information about Edna's parcel. In a letter from you written on Friday, you mentioned you were posting it to Oakville. It had never reached us and we are quite worried about it. It's Edna's hair (the switch you got from Miss Pargeter), also in the parcel you spoke of inclosing a cutting in your letter, but you must have forgotten it. Please let me know at once as I must get the P.O. authorities to work to trace it and I must know, if you posted it at all and where. You see in your hurry you may have put on wrong address. We are particularly anxious to recover the hair, and the box was from Mrs. A.W. Leitch and we do not know even what was in it.
Did not know you were going to Toronto so soon for more than Monday to look for your room. Tried to get you by phone last night at Knox Coll. In the afternoon they said you would be there at 5:30 and they would tell you to call me up, so then I phoned again at 7 o'clock but they could get no answer. I was hoping you would rest at home a week before going.
Your affectionate mother
M.B. McQuesten
