Dear Sirs:

I have spoken to Mr. McQuesten about the filling in of the South panel to correspond to the North panel with stone the same as being used to enclose the elevator shaft. This stone should be rock face the same as used in the small panel in the upper portion and placed on the same face, that is, forward instead of recessing it. Will you please confirm your estimate for the cost of the additonal work.

I have discussed with Mr. Angus, Consulting Engineer, the question of insulating the flue. He has suggested that the lining of the inside of the flue would be more effective than placing it on the outside as we suggested. I am taking this up with the Johns-Manville Company and will write later.

Yours very truly,
W.L. Somerville
