W-MCP7-1.101 TO MR. SLAVIN FROM C. ELLISON KAUMEYER. Oct 31 1946 To: Mr. Slavin. From: C.E. Kaumeyer. October 31, 1946
Personal
My dear Mr. Slavin:
When the writer was General Manager of the Niagara Parks Commission I communicated with you and received permission for our Mr. K.M. Broman, who was at that time Superintendent of Arboriculture, to collect certain seeds from the Parks System under your jurisdiction.
The Hon. T.B. McQuesten, K.C. who at that time was Chairman of the Niagara Parks Commission, is now head of the Royal Botanical Gardens at Hamilton, Ontario where Mr. Broman is now Curator.
I think it would be advisable to have a letter from you authorising him to collect the seeds as he may be questioned as to his authority to do so by the police or other officials. If this is agreeable I would ask that you kindly forward the letter granting permission to the writer at the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission, Niagara Falls, Ontario.
I have been in Rochester several times within the last few years and on one or two occasions endeavoured to locate you by telephone without success.
I trust you are enjoying good health and repeat what I have said on other occasions--that I am still looking forward for a visit from you. The Commission have a suite of rooms at the Bridge and anytime you are in this area I would be happy to have a visit from you and would be very pleased to have you remain and spend a few days as our guest.
Why not plan on coming over and taking a good rest for a week?
With kindest regards, I remain
Yours very truly,
C. Ellison Kaumeyer
