Dr McQuesten Sir

You will recollect that I exprefsed [sic] a determination when I saw you a year ago to leave Hopkinton for the Westward. My object was to exchange country businefs [sic] for that of a city or large town I was prevented from making arrangements for the transport, by sicknefs [sic] in my family in consequence of which I could not have gone last fall. I now calculate to leave this fall and shall wish to introduce some person here before I go. Perhaps you are situated to your mind where you are. If so you will be likely to continue. If not you will do well to call on me before I apply to my other person. I care but little about disposing of my real estate now because it think it will be better at some future time I shall want something for the locality but am willing to run the same risk about that which the person who takes the stand does I will if it should be requested take a certain percentage of the charges for a limited time- I should be glad to know immediately what your mind is on the subject. And one favor I must earnestly entreat of you that is that you disclose to no person my intention of leaving. You will really see the importance to me of keeping the project a perfect secret till I have made arrangements to leave and also the importance to the person take my place here.

With respect Isaac Colby
