Sir,

I have to acknowledge, in the absence of the Commissioners, the receipt of your letter of the 2nd inst. covering letter of Credit for 100 pounds-Stg. and I now enclose a check on the Bank of Upper Canada for the proceeds being with 10 1/2 per cent premium of Exchange and Interest thereon included. One hundred and twenty three Pounds four shillings and ten pence Currency which will be paid on presentation attached to the letter of Credit as noted in red Ink on the face of the check.
