W0179 TO DR CALVIN MCQUESTEN FROM L. CROSS. Mar 21 1861 To: Dr. Calvin McQuesten From: L. Cross St. Catharines Ontario St Catherines
March 21st 1861
My Dear Dr McQuesten
After offering you some of the seeds of the celebrated Hubbard squash I forgot to give them to you. So I take the liberty of sending a few. Hope you enjoyed your visit at the Falls and got safely home. As the Suspension Bridge hasn't yet fallen Thos. McQ will probably be induced to trust as again Ms Crofs [sic] remark[ed] she can come this far without even that small danger.
Since you left here I have seen the young person whose wellfair [sic] I have so much at heart. She inclined to the position suggested at the east- Said she feared she would prove unequal to requirements of the alternative at the west- With my best regards to Mrs McQuesten I am
Yours &c.
L. Crofs [sic]
