Sir,

I am in receipt of your note this morning with fifteen dollars enclosed. The sum total was thirty five Dollars & received from Mr. Gray for Jacket thirteen & from yourself fifteen would leave over seven, or lefs [sic] five but half will be nice.

Not much new news in Hamilton everything is very quiet the old Battery are all past to their colours & every one sworn in again very good boys
