Application of George Tait for a loan of $1800 for 5 years, on 2nd Lot 9th Concession of Blenheim County of Oxford, C. W. comprising 140 acres.¹

I hereby certify the aforegoing to be a true and correct description of the Property mentioned in the Schedule of the annexed application and to the best of my knowledge a true valuation of the same.

I am of the opinion that George Tait's farm is worth six thousand dollars at least any day.

² This account does not explain how the calculation was made. It may have been on the basis of a certain number of acres at $44.00 and the balance at $40.00. (140 x 43 = 6,020). A separate report of valuation (W0212, not included here) dated July 4, 1864, prepared by J. Willson, gives the value of the Tait property as $6,560.
