Canadian Agency Afsociation [sic,], Limited,
Toronto August 5th 1864

Received from Misters Wilson & McKeand the sum of Eighty four Dollars on a/c of Mr. George Tait, being a Deposit of 10 perc't [sic], on the Principal of his mortgage to the Association, subject to the following conditions.

If, on obtaining the permission of the Mortgagee to discharge the Mortgage before maturity, Mr. George Tait pay off the Mortgage, at the time agreed on, then the above amount shall be Credited against the Principal of Mortgage, failing this then Mr. George Tait forfeits 2 1/2 percent on the amt [sic] of Principal. In the Event of the Mortgagee not conducting the above Deposit shall be returned. [Words scratched out] This Deposit shall remain without bearing interest.
