My very dear friend,

I came to Mont. 2 days since to attend the wedding of my 2 youngest sisters, & after the wedding I was greeted with the sight of one precious letter from yourself & another from dear Mary. Sister Harriet was first married to Mr. F. Scovil from Berlin, 2 miles from here & immediately after sister Emily was married to Rev. G. H. Reddington from Moscow. It has been a very interesting visit to me. We are, however, greatly pained with the low state of sister H's health. We fear she has consumption seated upon her but hope & try to think that she will soon be better. Sister E. leaves to-morrow, & I had intended to write you by her. But as a younger brother of Mr. Scovill's is leave with them & is to go directly to Cincinnati through Brockport I think he had better be the bearer of my line as Br. & sister [?] will go no nearer you than Rochester.

To convince you that I write in extreme haste I will say to you I stayed at my fathers & assisted Emily pack her clothes till 10 o'clock & then came to sister Pitkin's, undressed my little Charles & in trying to get him to sleep he seemed to understand that I was in haste to leave him & as soon as I made an effort to rise from the bed he would shake off slumber although very sleepy, so detaining me nearly an hour & now I ought only to write that I cannot write. Last evening I took tea (by special invitation) at Gen. Walton's with my parents & their children, & to-day the same company was invited to dine at Judge Loomis' & this eve to tea at Mr. [Stores?]. This together with the confusion of fitting out from a family 2 of its members has with my babe almost tired me out. I have this to congratulate myself with "there are others tired besides me"--poor comfort.

My Dear husband says he intends to have me visit Brockport at some time if Providence permits. The residence of sister E. being in your vicinity will be an additional [?]. I hope she will some time visit Brockport for my sake, & have told her she must do so. I can hardly say that I acquiesce in her removal to so great a distance from her family friends. Tell your husband from me, if you please, that I remain a grateful friend of his & hope that a loving Providence may attend him. My love to Mrs. [?]. My family is in usual health.
