1 Dr. Calvin Brooks McQuesten studied medicine at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He received further education at the College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City. He tended to wounded servicemen during the Civil War (1861-5) and served at the U.S. General Hospital and at Colombian Hospital. During the American Civil War he enlisted as a sugeon in the Northern Army. He practiced medicine in New York City and Asbury Park, New Jersey.
