W2077 GUIDO FURMAN, M.D. Prospectus Sep 1 1867 To: Dr. Brooks McQuesten From: New York City. [DR. CALVIN BROOKS MCQUESTEN'S COMMENTS:][Reopened??] because some of his business transactions were coming to light, even enough to have the health board have him arrested and tired but not put "clean through", Now he has the impudent two years after to thus address the profession.
No. 7 NINTH STREET
Between Fifth and Sixth Avenues
New York, September, 1867
Dear Sir:
As Several dentists, physicians and surgeons of this city have perceived the necessity that the ADMINISTERING OF ANESTHETICS should be confined to men qualified therefore by education and practice, and upon their repeated request that I should act in that capacity, I have opened the above rooms. My success thus far assures me of their satisfaction, and for their convenience, and as a guide to new patrons, I give the following information:
1.-I produce a CHEMICALLY-PURE Nitrous Oxyd [sic] Gas, and administer it direct from the gas tank and meter.
2.-I administer innocuously a CHEMICALLY- PURE Chloroform and Ether; AERIFIED-whereby from 50 to 90 per cent of atmospheric air, at will may be inhaled.
3.-I administer at my room the above-named an aesthetics for minor surgical operations, assisting the operator if required.
4.-I am prepared to administer Chloroform and Ether at the houses of Patients: and contemplate giving in like manner the Nitrous oxyd Gas, if fairly supported.
5.-I employ a practical Dentist for the EXTRACTION of Teeth solely.
6.-Operations serving their patients at my room can arrange prices with them or have a reduction upon my scale for services.
I respectfully refer to every reputable physician practicing in this city.
GUIDO FURMAN, M.D.
[DR. CALVIN BROOKS MCQUESTEN'S COMMENTS:] Well what next-Guido has cheek enough after resigning his "health board office" to inform on the public by impudence
