Cholera
Discussion:
1. Cause: A living transmissible Organism whose Habitat is the Ganges.
2. Difference between Epidemic and Sporadic Cholera: Sporadic Cholera is more a Summer disease, when the Fruit is ripe, while Epidemic Cholera has little or no respect for seasons. Sporadic Cholera, although attended by partial suppression of the Urine, is not accompanied by Albuminurua. Sporadic Cholera is not followed by a Typhoid State as in epidemic Cholera. In Sporadic Cholera there is not the Comma Bacillus of Koch. This Organism is at least diagnostic of Epidemic Cholera, and if we prevent its development, we extinguish the disease.
3. The different effect upon the bowels in Sporadic and Epidemic Cholera as shown by Postmortem Examination.?
4. Epidemic Cholera contafious; Sporadic Cholera non-contagious. The former is cery fatal. The latter not so.
5. Explanation of death in Epidemic Cholera.
