My dear Brother,

Got home a little after 5 a.m. today, dog & all. Had almost nothing to pay after I left N.Y. & send you with this $20 Green-back to keep you a few days till I can scare up something more from you. Let me know of your receiving it, as this is not a very safe mode. Mary is first-rate. I'm sure we can both of us never thank you enough for all your kindness. M. had more money that I thought, for their a/c for amt. over.

Ever your brother

I.B. McQuesten
