2 Possibly either Samuel or Payson Sawyer (or both), Isaac's cousins who had taken over the Hamilton foundry built by Isaac's father Dr. Calvin McQuesten, his uncle John Fisher and their associates Joseph Janes and Priam Hill. S.P. Sawyer is mentioned in W1647.

3 John Harvey, Isaac's partner in the Hespeler Manufacturing Company which processed raw wool and cotton. The mill went bankrupt around 1887 with $900 000 in liabilities, see W2652.
