1 This statement was shortly after Isaac's death on Mar. 7, 1888, right after his bankruptcy. He and partner John Harvey had operated the cotton and wool mill in Hespeler Ontario since 1881, but the mill went bankrupt around 1887. See W2652 for more information.
2 Dr. Calvin Brooks McQuesten, Isaac's half-brother, mentions the use of money from the estate of Thomas Baker, Isaac McQuesten's father-in-law who passed away in 1887.
3 Note the deficit of $81,649.63 between Isaac's liabilities and his assets at the time of his death in 1888. In actuality Isaac owed around $900,000 at the time of his death (Whitehern Calendar, Minnes 1991). The accounts that explain the deficit are missing from the archives. |
