To: Rev. Thomas Baker, Newmarket, Upper Canada
From: Newmarket, Upper Canada

My dear Sir,

The enclosed resolution was unanimously passed at the Annual Meeting of Newmarket Branch Bible Society held on the evening of the 10th inst. and which I am directed to forward to you.

Permit me to say that I cordially endorse the resolution and regret very much your removal from among us; knowing full well that your removal will be felt not only in the Committee of the Bible Society but as a citizen.

Wishing you in the future (and also Mrs. and Miss Baker) much of earth's happiness together with the comforting and sustaining influence of the Holy Spirit through all life's journey.

I remain dear Sir

Very truly yours

Robert Alexander

Moved by R.H. Smith

Secd. by Mr. John Cook

"That the thanks of this meeting be tendered to the Rev. Thomas Baker (who has so long occupied an official position in this Society) for the valuable aid that he has rendered to this Branch: And we regret that he is about to leave the village, where he has so long laboured, in the cause of our blessed Redeemer."

"We pray that the change he contemplates making will contribute to the happiness of himself and family, and that the remainder of his days may be spent in one continued strain of peace and happiness."
