I am greatly obliged by your letter of the 5 Inst. informing me that my Lord's Commissioners of the Admiralty and [?] [?] [?] to your offer of the option of receiving the retired rank of Commander with the pay of eight shillings and sixpence a day according to "the Order in Council dated the 30th day of January 1816."
And I do most respectfully request you will have the goodness to inform their Lordships that I do most thankfully avail myself of the option they have so kindly given and earnestly wish to be placed on the separate list of Retired Commanders owing to the aforesaid Order in Council of 30th January 1816.
And as an obedient servant I also respectfully request that the annuity may be furnished me to draw for the amount of Retired pay annually [?].
