W3378 TO REV THOMAS MCQUESTEN from John Puckridge Baker (his grandson)
Feb 11 1880
To: Rev. Thomas Baker 3 Bold Street, Hamilton, Ontario
From: 11th Town Line, Brantford, Ontario

Rev'd T. Baker
Dear Sir/.

I feel much indebted to you for yr.[sic] kindness in replying to my questions, also to Mr. McQ. for his opinion, which I value quite as much, conveyed to me thorough yourself, as if in his writing. I hope that he has ceased to suffer from that very troublesome complaint Bronchitis. As I am conscious that I have fallen in with friends who even in times of sickness and cares take pains to relieve & lighten the burdens of others I shall endeavour to act at all times in such a manner, as to show you, that such friendship is well appreciated. As I am not gifted with conciseness & c. I have probably expressed myself in a former letter in an indistinct manner respect to the date of said note becoming due to make this clear I write a copy verbatim-I now have since, obtained yr. valued advice, a much greater hope of a satisfactory settlement, of the Amt. due to my Brother in the course of a year or two if our friend should continue his present profession & occupation successfully.

Hoping that both yourself and Mrs. Baker & the members of yr. family may all again enjoy the blessings of health. I remain very respectfully and gratefully yours,

John Puckridge

P.S. As Willie is averse to letter writing, I give him great latitude, so that he shall not feel continued dislike.
