From:

These are to Certify the Principal Officers and Commifsioners [sic] of His Majesty's Navy that Mr. Thomas Baker served as Volunteer of the First Clafs [sic] on board of H.M.S. Antelope, under My Command from the 20th day of April 1809 to the 5th day of January 1810, and from the 6th day of January 1810 to the date hereof, as Midshipman. During which time he behaved with Diligence and Sobriety, and was always obedient to Command.

Given under My Hand on Board of H.M.S. Antelope 4th June 1810.
