Harriet Hampson Baker the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Baker was born Friday, July 17, 1820. Publickly [sic]baptised August 27, 1820 by Rev'd J. Griffin at King St. Chapel.1

1 Rev. Thomas Baker recorded the birth and baptism of his 8 children by Sarah Hampson: W4213, W4214, W4215, W4216, W4217, W4218, W4218a, W4219.
Rev. Baker's first wife Sarah Hampson Baker (1799-1847) died in childbirth at the age of 48. She had 8 children; the youngest, Martha Elizabeth, was 17 when she died, and the eldest, Harriett Hampson, was 27. Harriett Hampson Wilkes, also died in childbirth the same year, 1847.
Rev. Baker's second wife was Mary Jane McIlwaine whom he married in 1848, and she is the mother of his ninth child, Mary Jane Baker [McQuesten] (1849-1935) b. October 10, 1849, in Brantford, Ont.
