Sarah Orange Baker, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Baker was born at Portsea, January 23, 1827, & publickly [sic] baptised by the Rev. John Griffin at Providence Chapel, Rowland's Castle, July 9, 1827.¹

¹ Rev. Thomas Baker recorded the births and baptisms of his eight children by Sarah Hampson: W4213, W4214, W4215, W4216, W4217, W4218, W4218a, W4219. Rev. Baker also had a ninth child by his second wife, Mary-Jane McIlwaine: Mary Jane Baker [McQuesten] b. October 10, 1849, in Brantford, Ont.
