1 Although this report does not give Mary's grade for spelling, we know that her spelling was very good when she was a student. In 1859 Newmarket Grammar School awarded her a prize for spelling, a book titled "The Mountains of Scripture," which describes the significance of many of the mountains mentioned in the bible.
