Dear Mother

I hope you are very well and getting fat and Tom, Edna wrote some of the post card with Mary's help we are all quite well and Edna most particularly she is so gay and jolly.1 Mrs. Grant is very kind please give my love to all at Mrs. MacKay and tell her I will be down on Tuesday the twenty third, poor Tom Hepburn is very sad without Tom, I really think I must stop now

1 The Calendar date for this letter or postcard is shown as 1881 which is clearly incorrect since Edna is mentioned here and she was not born until 1886. Correct date coincides with W4341 in 1889 when Mary/mother was at Mrs. MacKay's.
In 1891 Hilda was fourteen years of age.
See also W4341, dated 1889, Ruby writes to her mother from Whitehern when her mother is at Mrs. MacKay's which is where she appears to be on this date.
