W4413 TO MARY JANE MCQUESTEN from Dr. John Mullin. Nov 11 1898 To: Mary-Jane McQuesten. From: Dr. John Mullin. Hamilton
Nov 11, 1898.1
Your message was given to me by Mrs. Mullin, and it's the first chance I had. The enclosed acct is written to-night from the memorandum in my ledger and I send it to-day to you with hesitation for I feel that I would rather not send my account to you and would not send it now were it not for your expected request. I would much rather have repoprted it as cancelled long ago in memory of the severe trials and anxieties through which you have had to pass, and of a long and most highly esteemed friendship to me and mine that I cannot value too highly.
Yours sincerely
John Mullin
1 Date is difficult to read-looks to be 1898, which would be 10 years after Isaac's death, although if it's dated 1888 it would be eight months after Isaac's death. It seems more plausible that it would be 1888, but the date looks more like 1898.
