My Dear Cal
Just a few lines this Morning and to tell you the truth we're rather glad that Mrs. Harper could not come. Mamma says you must not be at all discouraged about the arbitration as we can get through it alright. She also adds that you might remark to her in asking for leave of absence till Monday, that it is cheaper for you to be at home as your paid back say for board. I have been invited to the Vander's [Vandersmissen] for Thanksgiving so am afraid will not see you here. This really too bad I have been looking forward so to having you here but everyone thinks I should go and I suppose it will be nice. If you stay here till Monday there won't be much chance to see you but as your boarding house is so near the V's could perhaps see you at noon as will be coming home in the afternoon. Must close as I want the letter to reach you in time.
Yours very lovingly
Ruby McQuesten
