It was very vexing about Mrs. Jannan and I know that worst of it is this appearing mean, but I am glad you did not contend the matter, because if the fare is good, it is cheap board. As my bank of M. [Montreal] Dividend came in, I have had the great satisfaction of almost clearing off my debts. I am no longer in debt to the butcher, the grocer, the flowerman, the painter, the doctors, or the tailor. Tom went down and brought home in triumph the clock from Smith's, which has a musical alarm. It would be a good idea to keep that book for Tom, Hilda will send you the card in time. I am only enclosing the $2.00 you ask as I do not wish to risk more in one letter, but will send you more soon. I suppose you noticed death of Mr. McGill. Have heard no particulars. The Mission Band Sale passed off very well, with more success than usual. You will excuse this stupid letter but I walked too much yesterday & day before and to-day I have neuralgia. Edna has the litttle Culhams in & they are all chattering in the next room. Mary is down at Mrs. Bell's, she & Florrie go to Clifton Spring next week for two or three months. Mr. B. is furious.
