I am wishing for my friends to enjoy with us this interesting and beautiful neighbourhood. After the great heat of our last few days in London it is even more enjoyable. The drives through the lovely lanes & hedges, wild flowers, I enjoyed more than any thing else--And the larks soaring & singing. I trust your dear mother & all are well. Great fun and Mr. Tom will have a happy holiday. My young people are all on my hands yet. I thought something would come out of those opportunities--but I am staking all on the return voyage--We expect to explore this place on Tuesday. Built by William the Conqueror--We met some Montreal people in London. The sea is lovely here. Ships against the horizon & fishing boats [?] lately ships going on--It is an inspiring scene--This Great Highway to America, it looks very peaceful in the sunshine & how wonderful is the tide--ebbing & flowing at His command "Thus [?]"--I think the sea is glorious--All His works are wonderful--We sail 18 th July by "Minneapolis." With love and kindest regards to all sincerely. A.L.T [Thomson]
