My dear dear Cal.

If it were not that you might miss your letter to-morrow, would scarcely write as I wrote on Monday and have nothing interesting to say to-day. I am wondering if Tom is with you, poor [??] [Peter??] suppose he would be as he said he would probably be home end of this week. This grieving the frils are expecting the Mclaren, Emily Colgnhamn and May Mewburn to tea. The weather is very dull and cool not at all seasonable and I am afraid the grapes like last season will not ripen, our tommatoes are not ripe yet either. Such quantities of fruit in the basket, bushels of peaches Mrs. Bell sent me ini a basket. The family are still in Muskoka I am wondering if those [Musens??] you mentioned are from Cayuga, it is not a comon name and connection of Mrs. Bell gave that name. it is a Mrs. Musen who sneds Mary cards from China, the last one came from Mona. Sorry it was rainy & Misty when chamber of commerce came here, it was a wasted day not even being market day. Yesterday I saw Dr. Arnott about his bill for he really has made a wonderful cure of Mary's face. He said it would be $26 I of course strongly [decided??] for it was really worth four times that but he said if Mary had not been such a good patient he could have done nothing for her, but the way she followed out his instructions [even??] to small details, which help a great deal and very few will mind about and her patient perseverance really helped win so much that he would ask no more. I thought that extremely nice of him and most honest. Did I ever tell you that Mada Mintz has bought Holland Hills house? And Mrs. Kuntz [??] bought Miss Grams cottage. So there are changes,
