W5754 TO [REV.] CALVIN MCQUESTEN from his mother, Mary Baker McQuesten
Jan 7 1907 Monday
To: Calvin McQuesten 22 Sewweud Toronto
From: 'Whitehern'

My dearest Cal,

When Tom was up on Friday, he told me that you ought not to board at Mrs. D's, the food was not fit for you at all, you ought to have good food. Now you know this is quite true and as you will only have a short time and have earned so much towards it, I must insist that you look for good board and if you need help I will give it.

Perhaps where Grey is would be good, at least you can find out from him what it is like. Your room is a cheap one so you can spend more on board, you must indeed. We have been feeling very lonely but have plenty to do. My mind was relieved by hearing from Mrs. Boyce and finding Mary's lace tie. To-day is election day but do not think I should vote, have no faith in any of them. Such rainy foggy weather, it is very depressing and hard to do anything when it is dark. With much love.

Your mother

M. B. McQuesten

[P.S.] In a note from Penrose W. we learn that Harry was to return to Calgary on Saturday, was looking pretty well, but had a bad cold in his head. Had a card from Ruby, reached Ottawa in good time.
