W6035 TO THOMAS MCQUESTEN from his mother, Mary Baker McQuesten
Feb 18 1908 Tuesday, [approximate date]
To: Thomas McQuesten Toronto Ontario
From: 'Whitehern'

My dearest Tom,

It was quite a surprise to me to hear from Cal that his exams came on so soon, besides having his M.A. thesis to write. And it quite worried me, that he had so much on his mind besides, in connection with going out West. I am sure you will help him all you can to get his goods started, that he has to get in Toronto. We will see to the rest. I shall enclose a list of articles I have thought of since and he can cross out any he may have and return to you. Also ask if we shall send our bale to him or "Andy" Findlay c/o Station Master, Saskatoon.

I was afraid you would not be satisfied with the miniature. At one time thought it was fair except lower part of face, too heavy altogether and then at the last I found she had worked at the lips and spoiled the eyes and spoiled that. I would not care, if she had been practicing for her own benefit, but I am more than sorry to have you disappointed. I should have stood firm by my former experience of artists and not allowed you to be drawn in. How long will Miss R stay? You had better let Miss Elliott know, you are not yet pleased with it. With much love, dearie.1

Your loving mother

M.B. McQuesten
