W6306 TO [REV.] CALVIN MCQUESTEN from his mother, Mary Baker McQuesten

To: Calvin McQuesten Knox College Toronto Ontario
From: 'Whitehern'

Dearest Calvin,

I trust by this time you are safe and sound in Knox College. It is too bad not to be able to have a few days at home before going to work, but it is fortunate you will be able to have from Saturday over Monday, and let me tell you, there are special rates from Saturday to Monday you would probably wish to return Monday evening. It think it is $1.30.

Had a letter from Tom from Manchester, [New Hampshire] he was enjoying himself thoroughly. John [John Knox McQuesten] and he having a delightful time visiting all the graveyards within reach. I had urged him to see Boston and its neighbourhood as much as money permitted but he was not at all anxious. He is to be home anytime now, his holidays last over next week.

You will be thinking the weather too warm. Thank you very much for birth-day letter. I am feeling very well indeed and cannot understand what my heart is beating for. I was in Toronto on Friday going and returning by boat and went down again Monday and came back last night, having my teeth attended to. I really look the picture of health, and sleep very well, but cannot stand meetings yet1.

I suppose it will be afternoon before we see you Saturday, if you have a lecture in the morning. Hope you had got the room you wished. With much love.

Your loving Mother

M.B. McQuesten
