Dearest Calvin,

I will begin my letter to-night. Your letter from Delisle reached us on Thursday this week. I was glad to know you had such a pleasant change at Sakatoon, it makes such a difference where one stays. If Mrs. Cummins is like Mrs. Winchester she would be very gentle and nice. Mary saw Jean McKerracher here the other day, she had heard from her husband that he was writing you to take the services for him at Gravenhurst on the 17th as he was getting his holidays then and you could see Ruby. Wasn't it thoughtful? I only felt sorry that it was your first Sunday here and also you would be tired travelling and then have to start off again on the Saturday. At the same time, the following Sabbath is the one before Thanksgiving, which is now on Mondays, I am thinking you would like us to send down your Prince Albert, to Knox Coll., you would scarcely need your topper as you would be wearing an over-coat. You will get your expenses that way.

This week Lillie James came on Monday evening and stayed till Thursday when Hilda went down with her. This morning I saw Lorna Culham, who told me they had left Oakville and gone to Toronto to 147 Roxborough St. S.

It seems too bad your little plans for farming should have to be relinquished; at the same time it would have been a weight on your mind to have borrowed money and wondering all the time if your farmer was doing well by you with the yearly uncertainty of getting someone to take it.¹ You see with my extra expenses I have had to borrow money myself, not liking to take my principal and hoping to catch up later. The Dr. Lyle, R. mentions is a connection of the Rev. Dr., he is a patient but also assists Dr. Parfitt. Well Calvin, there seems nothing more to say.

Saturday. It is such a fine day Tom & I are going down to Oakville this p.m. as we have a ticket with some trips unused. With much love from all.
