W6891 TO REV. CALVIN MCQUESTEN, B.A. from his mother, Mary Baker McQuesten
Aug 9 1915
To: Calvin McQuesten East Northfield Massachusetts
From: 'The Manse' Buckingham Quebec

My dear Calvin,

Received your letter this morning and glad to know my letter reached you before Sunday I have sent the Globe every day. Friday we had a lovely treat of our own peas and there are enough for another dinner. To-day we are having one of the cabbages, which looks lovely.

We have had some very heavy rains, but it cleared for church yesterday. Mr. Taylor is evidently a very good man but somewhat peculiar in his arrangement of sermons. It is very disappointing about your speakers, after waiting so long to get to Northfield. But I am glad it is such a nice place and perhaps you could not do better than stay there, unless you hear of some place later. You are I think rather far north for comfortable sea bathing. Have just noticed you have received Globe. I do not know if they have a book store at Northfield, if you see a book nice for a young girl you might get it for Edna Charlotte, or a story for our Edna. Do not trouble if you do not see them.

We had a call from Mrs. Roy and Mrs. Louvin. But the weather most of last week was too rainy for calling. By-the-way, if you enlarge your hand-writing much more, you will require a larger envelope. The rain has brought the grass up nicely. All join in much love.

Your affectionate mother

M.B. McQuesten
