W6948 TO MRS. MARY B. MCQUESTEN from Josephine Smith Feb 1 1915 To: Whitehern, Hamilton, Ontario From: 202 Avenue Road, Toronto, Ontario Dear Mrs. McQuesten,
Thank you very much for your kind letter showing such understanding of the situation. I think it was mainly the thought of not being near Mrs. Brown that was the cause of the undertainty. But after all, I could reach her in the event of her having another serious illness and putting it as you did "a few months." It shortened the time wonderfully, so that I am quite ready now to say that I will go to Buckingham.
I am sure that I will be very comfortable and happy with Mr. McQuesten and I will try to the utmost of my ability to make him so as well.
Would next Tuesday be soon enough for me to go?
I have been keeping house for Mrs. Edward Brown while she was away, and she has not yet returned though we expect her to-morrow--but I have to gather my things, some of them are stored in the house we formerly occupied and I have some here with me--but the other house is on the opposite side of the city and it takes some time to get there.
As to the terms they are entirely satisfactory. I certainly will not have too much to do and I am fond of housekeeping.
With kind regards and trusting that my reply is satisfactory, I am,
yours sincerely
Josephine Smith
