My dear fellow brave,

I address thus tho' M-W-A-Kah [Moodweyaushkah Club] is, I fear, almost a term of the past. Not that the club has disbanded but because there has been no meeting for some months and, so far as I can learn, not likely to be a pow-wow for some time to come, if, indeed, at all. The exec. seems to be lifeless and things have simply "gone dead." Of course, I have been out of town all winter & summer, with the exception of April & May, and am out of touch with the boys. I was talking to Kenny a few weeks ago; he is very busy at home for the summer but regrets that the club has not kept going. So may of the braves are away that the personnel of the club must be altered by the addition of new members if it is to resume its monthly confabs in the fall. Some means sh'd be devised for keeping in touch with the absent members as they have the interests of the club at heart and have many traditions of camp and suppers that make very pleasant reminiscences.

Fred Anderson was telling me that he saw you some time ago. He showed me your photo; for the sake of auld lang syne, Calvin, send me one too, won't you please? I'll reciprocate in the fall if you wish my chromo.

As you probably infer from my address, I am on a mission-field for the summer. I was here all winter, taking my final year in Arts extra-murally & going down to write last spring. I hope to enter second year in theoly. in Oct.

There are a large number of tourists here during the summer & I am boarding at a summer hotel where I can get in close touch with them and make them welcome to attend our services. The settlers are farmers and take the usual interest of country people in the church. I preach morning & evening here & aft. at Malta, a place four miles distant. There are three S. Schools & two C.E., Societies on the field. My time is well taken up with the visiting and the meetings, yet I make time for a good amount of recreation in the way of rowing, paddling, fishing etc. This is a delightful spot in which to spend the summer. One gets in close touch with the heart of nature, the beauties of which are manifested everywhere in rivers, lakes woods and fields. There is an entrancingly lovely stream here with a fine, mouth-filling Indian title viz: Kah-she-she-log-a-mog.

I'm sorry I can't give you any news about Toronto friends and that, on this account, my letter will prove dull reading. Write me about yourself and your work sometime soon & don’t forget the above mentioned request.
