Dear Cal,

Rec'd your letter today and was glad to hear that you were pleased with your new abode although I had little doubt that you would be. Be very careful not to hurt that 'ere hoss or let it hurt you they tell me they, the horses, have a peculiar way of treating people, particularly greenhorns. Am sending you the 2 doz Presb. Style and the diary as requested, by Book Express prepaid, it being safer than mail so call at the express office in say 4 or 5 days from above date. The hymnals will cost you 8 cents each & the diary 30 cents with express 38 cents added (This is 2 cents cheaper than by mail so am looking after your interests). The Temple Shakespeare will cost you 23 cents each in cloth and 34 cents in leather with about 3 cents added for mail. In remitting send to me direct as am just keeping a note of these articles and the firm would think you were making them a present if they received it. I did not see Saturdays news but am going to look it
