KNOX COLLEGE
Students' Missionary Society.

W7446 TO [REV.] CALVIN MCQUESTEN from W. W. McLaren
Dec 11 1903
To: Calvin McQuesten Macleod, Alberta
From: Toronto, Ontario

Dear McQuesten,

Would you kindly in the near future and at the earliest your multifarious duties will allow, send a short pithy account of your present surroundings and of your mission work to the following congregations, S.S, and Bible classes!

The gentlemen who were assigned this work last summer did so poorly that unless something else of an interesting nature is sent we shall be in danger of losing contributions aggregating $100 or more. In writing kindly state in each letter that the letter is sent at the request of the President of the Knox College Students' Missionary society. Now is the crucial moment to strike because all moneys are usually attached the last week in December and the first few days in January. The following is the list:

Westminstir [sic] SS & BG
Rev. J. McNeil, 18 Charles St. Toronto.

Knox Church, YPS & BG.
Rev. E.A. Irving, M.A., Hamilton

Hyde Park Mission Band.
Rev. W.G. Wylie B.A., Hyde Park

Mandaumin
Rev. J. Burkholder, Mandaumin

Knox Church SS
Rev. R.S. Laidlaw B.A., Woodstock

Erskine JCE and SS.
Rev R. Martin B.A. 286 Main St. West, Hamilton

Newmarket St. Congregation
Rev. A.K. McGillivary, M.A.

1st Church SS.
Rev. H.E. Abraham BA. Port Hope.

Cooke's Church CE + SS
Rev. Mr. Eslen, Shuter St. Toronto

Ventry C.E.
Miss Kate McLellan, Ventry

Alexandra Church SS + BC.
Rev. H.J. Pritchard, B.A.
154 Nelson St. Brantford

I know this is rather a heavy task to ask you to perform but these places gave in the aggregate $200 and our obligations are so heavy this year that we require all the means we can raise. This will be your Christmas gift to the churches of the east. A short pithy letter of 3 sheets of note paper like this I am using will be sufficient.

I trust you are enjoying your work and that you have so far not been lost in the many trails that abound throughout your wide country parish.

Our college term draws to a close. Tonight we hold our annual At Home. I see your brother occasionally. He is looking hale and hearty.

I wish you may have a Merry Xmas and many happy and prosperous returns of the New Year.

Yours sincerely

W.W. McLaren
