W7513 TO [REV.] CALVIN MCQUESTEN from Margaret Marshall
Jan 20 1905
To: Calvin McQuesten Toronto, Ontario
From: Coleman, Alberta

Dear Mr. McQuesten,

I was delighted to receive photos, but sorry not to have written you before to thank you for your kindness in sending magazine.

I read & enjoyed your article & passed it on for quite a number of people had heard about it and were anxious to read it. We have been away from the ranch since the last of November. Mr. Marshall left for the mountains & I went down to Standoff & stayed at Mrs. Young's & met all the people down in that part of the country.

We settled in Coleman & hoped for a good winter but the miners went out on strike & there is nothing doing in the town and we feel very badly over this seeing you have waited so patiently on us for money. We have just heard that a settlement is expected in the mines on Monday and if this be so your money will be the first consideration.

I was very lonely at Xmas but then everything goes in the West & people do not care if you are lonely or not. I called on Mrs. Graham before I came to Coleman & was pleased to know she was brighter in herself than when you were out West.

Mr. McQuesten I would not part with those photos you sent for a great deal & only you will be able to come and spend a holiday with us when we get a better home.

If all goes well I will write you in a months time & send your $40.00. If it is not too late we wish you a very Happy New Year.

Yours Sincerely

Margaret Marshall
