KNOX COLLEGE
STUDENTS' MISSIONARY SOCIETY

W7546 TO [REV.] CALVIN MCQUESTEN from R. B. Cochrane
Aug 17 1905
To: Calvin McQuesten Staney Brae, Muskoka, Ontario
From: 24 Howland Ave., Toronto, Ontario

My dear Calvin,

It has just occurred to me that it would be a good idea before the tourists leave to lay before them the work of the Knox Society in general, distribute some of last year's reports and some of the maps with this year's fields -- explaining that all the receipts on the Lake Joseph field over & above current expenses went to the treasury of the Society to help weaker and more outlying fields -- I should think that an address including some of your western experiences would be interesting & appealing. What Sunday can you give to this -- or what do you think of the idea? I understand that Gordieu preaches next Sunday at the church & Elmore Harris the following Sunday -- I do wish you could make this appeal during the next two weeks -- but your plans seem to make this impossible. How would it be to take this line at your other services either the first Sunday or the following and then at the church on the first Sabbath in September.

I am making this suggestion that you may think it over before I see you -- I hope to leave on Tuesday next for ten days on the Lakes and will be glad to see you at "Kingsett" anytime after Tuesday night to talk matters over with you.

I may say old man that I am more than satisfied with the way things have gone and are going on Lake Joseph -- I think you understand now that when I told you that the situation there is "unique" --I told the truth! but you are to be congratulated on the very evident careful planning and successful carrying out of your plans -- Glad the collection on the 6th was what you desired.

Mother & Alex join in kindest regards to all at Staney Brae -

I am very sincerely yours

R. B. Cochrane
