Dear Mr. McQuesten,

I was very pleased to get your nice letter, and also to hear that you were well and having a good time. We are all quite well at present except Dad. He was out riding a few days ago, and the horse he was riding fell on his leg and hurt it quite badly. My Uncle Alf. is now at Bristol, his own home, and my aunt at Grafton, her home. I do not know if my Uncle will be staying at Toronto or not but I think my Aunt will be there for a few days visiting some friends.

The place you were staying at must be very pretty, but as I have never saw [sic] anything like the description you gave of it, I cannot imagine what it is like. Fred is around here yet and he is just the same as ever. Phil and his wife are also quite well. Kitty is still a dressmaker, but is staying at home now. She came home Christmas and is going to be home until the end of this month. I showed her your letter and she told me to tell you that she was not the least bit broken hearted. We were all very sorry Mr. Scott could not remain with us as he seemed very nice indeed.

We are having beautiful weather here now. There is not a bit of snow and it is hardly ever cold. My Uncle Tom is staying with us just now but he expects to go up to the mines in a day or two. Mr. & Mrs. Webb expect to be up at Stand Off next summer. They are going to build a new house for them across the river, at the same place they were at before. I shall be very glad as they are very nice neighbours. As it is getting late I will have to stop for this time. Hoping to hear from you soon, I remain, yours sincerely,
