W7631 TO [REV.] CALVIN MCQUESTEN from Mrs. Annie Ross
Jan 19 1907
To: Calvin McQuesten
From: Ottawa Ladies' College, Ottawa, Ontario

Dear Calvin,

You may well think I have forgotten to acknowledge your loving Christmas gift, but I know not. It has only been delay until I could write a few lines completely. These opening weeks are very full. Your sister says she thinks your work demands so much and we have been wishing this world would not run so fast. I do not know what is to be done to moderate the moral rate of speech on both sides. We find the pressure here too. A time of refined leisure would be very delightful, but I do not know when it is coming.

I am sending you my little New Year's message since I had to give God the little cake[?] in the midst of the world's whirl. I can measure the experiment.

We have had a very happy offering and the prospects are good.

A Happy New Year to you dear Calvin, with a growing supply of that [?] [?] [?] understanding, which will be commensurate with it "being careful for nothing."

I think I shall send you my Thanksgiving leaflet too. The truth of it has been very helpful to me. Loving regards from us all.

Yours affectionately

Annie Ross.
