Your welcome letter to hand some time ago and was pleased to hear from you. I received your very nice book in due time and there are some very fine selections in it. Willie is all struck on the one entirely The Minister's grievance. He thinks it is just fine and suits the people of Glenhurst just to perfection he wanted me to promise the next time I was asked to read I would read it but I did not promise.¹

We had a very nice Xmas and New Year we all enjoyed ourselves to the best of our ability dancing and having a big time but everything seemed wrong without mother and the worst of it is she is not home yet and not liable to be my brother in one letter is worse and in another one just holding his own but I guess he is just about as thin as he can be and do not think there is any hopes of recovery they had a new Doctor a while ago and he only gave him two weeks to live and his two weeks it up this week so we are patiently waiting for tomorrows mail.²

There is a big dance at Mr. Dugans tonight Jemima and Willie have gone and Nelson Saunders Nelson is staying with us just now while we are digging for water we are down about 80 feet and no signs of it yet but Stanley got a lovely one at 113 feet only 25 feet of water and still coming up. I only hope we do not have to go down any further as it is pretty discouraging when you get below 100 feet and no water.

Oh! by the way I thought I told you mother received your money order all O.K. If I did not I intended too for she got it all O.K. and many thanks.

We are having a lovely winter this last 3 or 4 days has been the worst and it is only 32 in the mornings but today it kept down pretty all day not getting very much above 26.

Things are pretty interesting around here just now as Molly is very sick in fact we are somewhat doubtful as to her recovery and mother away you know that would be an awful thing if anything would happen her and mother away although I think it is took good care and not enough exercise that ails her as Jemima was feeding her pretty heavy trying to get her fat before mother would come home.

You spoke about our Big Sister well she is away nursing just now up at Howard Whites they have a young son up there but we expect her home tomorrow if all is well.

With reference to the song book you need not mind it but would like you to get a coppy of the crooket Baubee, The Holy City, My God My Father while I Stray as a Solo for a tenor voice and The Choir Boy all sheet music send them along and you bill and I will remit by return of mail Remember I want the crooket Baubee as a duet.
