W7762 TO [REV.] CALVIN MCQUESTEN from Ed. Jeffrey
Jul 19 1908
To: Calvin McQuesten Glenhurst, Saskatchewan
From: 446 Yonge St. Toronto, Ontario

Dear Calvin,

Just a short note to say I was very pleased to hear from you & to know you are getting along so splendidly. I was away at camp when the July Canadian Magazine should have come and I cannot find it but I'll send some along. I went over to Niagara again & had a very good camp. We were pretty busy in the hospital.

I had an opportunity to go to Quebec to the Tricentenary Celebration but could not arouse any enthusiasm over it so stayed at home.

We are all well at home. Walter is back and working at home. I don't think [?] that I will get back to school, but that doesn't worry me greatly. Lord Roberts is coming to Toronto & will cross to Niagara Falls before returning home. But I intend to be quite independent & unless he chooses to call I won't look him up.

Dr. McTavish had a little girl last week but it only lived a couple of days, they must be greatly disappointed.

Rev. Mr. Bruce is going back to China this fall in fact I think he leaves here in August. Rev. Fred Anderson has been appointed a Secretary of the Young Peoples' Forward Movement for Missions.

Our Y.P.S.C. Exp. at Central Church is in existence but not much more. I think I'll go up to St. Thomas Church tonight. Anna may get a chance to play their organ this winter and as she doesn't know anything about the Church of Eng. service and they have an extensive ritual there she wants to hear the way things are done. Grace is away on holiday & Murray too so our family is quite small, but even in the hot summer I like home comfort better than any summer resort, don't you?

Well, Calvin, if there is any way I can be of service to you don't hesitate to send me word. I'll send along some magazines.

Sincerely yours,

Ed. Jeffrey.
