I am very sorry to inform you that the total subscription has only come to ten dollars, of which I am giving five myself, one party gave two, and three others one apiece. I shall give this to Mrs. Anderson as soon as they pay up; am sorry to hear you are dead broke and would lend you a helping hand if my arm were strong enough but I have been in pinched circumstances all fall myself.

They seem to have lots of money to throw away on raffles, as there is one about every week.

The C.N.R. is running out to Zelandia¹ and has been once a month. Most of the grain was marketed at Tessier [sp?] The grading has been pushed about fifteen miles West of Zelandia. November 28 we had a smart taste of winter in the form of a blizzard. Monday morning it registered about 25 below zero, and it was not much better this morning.

I saw your horse² last night, and it is looking well, so I suppose Will is not abusing it.

Will Anderson, Nelson Saunder, and Jack McPerson leave for the East this week. Joe Clark has erected a new frame house but does not talk of marriage this winter.
