Dear Friend,

I have been intending to write you for a long time but have been very busy. I suppose it will interest you to know what I have been doing since you left. We are not at home this winter, we are staying at J. Wilson's 24 Ave. My little dear wife got lonesome and was dreading the winter so I thought we would go away. It was too late to go far so we stopped at 1½ miles. John Wilson and I are in town now, we have been here two weeks waiting for the teams to go out, you know the C.N. runs out to Zealandia now twice per week but it is very hard as the snow banks up the road so badly, the team was snowed in out there for a week.

I am tired of this place but if wife was here I would be OK. Any place with her, I am happy, never catch me away again without her. I was good yesterday I got her a little surprise 15 yds of silk $1.00 per yard. She will be pleased with it. I was very much at a loss to know what to get in color, but I always like her best in black, it is my favorite colour.

Norman is fine quite a big boy now, he speaks lots of words and is into all the mischief he can find. Could not get along very well without him.

We will soon see you now, and I hope to see my brother too. If you will please write him and try and make arrangements for him to meet you I guess he will come. I have been trying to persuade him and the last letter I had from home was very favorable. They are expecting a letter from you, you see he is rather unsophisticated as regards traveling and if you would be so kind as to tell him what day it would be necessary for him to leave in order to meet you, it would be better then he could get along himself. Everything is OK at your farm and I hope you get rich from it. I am thinking seriously of buying a lot house in Saskatoon and building on it and renting the house. I have a splendid spot in view, on the bank of the river, about 200 feet from the water.
